From Nelson
- Take Highway 6 North East from Nelson
- Travel time is approx 1 hour, 45 mins
- Pelorus Bridge Reserve is a wonderful swim or walk
- Stop in Havelock, the Green Shell Mussel Capital of the World
- Pass through Renwick, welcome to vineyard country
From the South
- Travel North on State Highway 1 on the East Coast of the South Island
- Travel time is approx 4 hours
- Stop in Kaikoura for Whale Watching and great Fish and Chips
- Walk the seal colonies just North of Kaikoura
- Stop at Lake Grassmere saltworks.
From the Ferry / Picton
- Head South from Picton on State Highway 1
- Travel time is approx 25 mins
